Niya Abdullahi is an IT enthusiast, aspiring change maker, and lifetime resident of Scarborough North. She is a third-year Business Technology Management undergraduate student at Ryerson University. She is well versed in the private sector previously working at TD Canada Trust and CIBC. She was also a Financial Data Analyst for the Ontario government. Niya is the VP of Finance for the Ryerson East African Student Association, which gives her the capacity to host fundraising events for Emergency initiatives in East Africa and facilitating financial literacy workshops. During her free time, Niya enjoys volunteering at the Islamic Foundation of Toronto’s Hot Soup Day initiative, where she actively plays a role in bridging gaps and amplifying positivity within her community. She is also a workshop facilitator with the Rivers of Hope Collective, designed to engage High School students on the topic of Islamophobia, and empower students to take action against Islamophobic bullying and violence. Niya is eager to bring together her passion for technology, innovation, and strategy, while translating them into plausible solutions for the future! She is currently a fellow in the Muslim Youth Fellowship. A non-partisan program that provide students with an opportunity to work with an elected government representative in the City of Toronto. She is absolutely excited to be a delegate in Daughter of Vote and looking forward to represent her riding, Scarborough North.
