Angelique Belcourt: Etobicoke-Lakeshore

Angelique lives as an urban Indigenous Anishnaabekwe with familial ties to the Historic Georgian Bay Métis Settlement. Guided by gaa-izhi-zhaawendaagoziyaang and rooted in self-determination, she works within local Indigenous social services with a passion to help empower and support community overcome barriers to social development. Angelique looks forward to a day where all urban Indigenous peoples can easily, truly and proudly be reconnected with their gifted identity. She is currently completing her Masters of Arts at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education in Community and Adult Education where she focuses her research on Indigenous wellbeing and representative inclusion of community’s voices within policy frameworks and political change.
