Clémence Thabet: Orléans

Clémence Thabet: Orléans

I am a 2nd year student in political science and law at uOttawa. After a year as a House of Commons page, I am now passionate about political and electoral reform. As the Vice-President of Bilingualism at the University of Ottawa Pre-Law Society (and someone who lives in the very bilingual community of Orleans), I am very passionate about linguistic and minority rights. I am also currently participating in the development of a project regarding the well-being of the environment in Ottawa with an organisation called RISE and am very interested in sustainability and the conservation of green spaces. Finally, as a young queer woman interested in the world of politics, I am a fervent advocate of intersectional feminism and LGBTQ2+ rights. I hope to pursue a career in law to help uphold human rights in my daily life and to help design a Canada that is more inclusive and more respective of indigenous rights, land sovereignty, and the environment. When I am not studying, working, or volunteering for one of these causes, I can generally be found devouring a good book and cuddling my dog.
