Emily recently graduated from the University of Calgary with an Honours’ Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. During her final year of university, she embarked on an exchange to Stockholm, Sweden, where she completed her honours’ thesis. She aspires to pursue a career in medicine, specifically working with individuals who have suffered from stroke or traumatic brain injuries. Emily is passionate about neuroscience, neurology, and mental health awareness. She currently volunteers at several stroke rehabilitation centres and support groups in her community. She also works with a local not-for-profit to help break down the stigma surrounding mental health and creating supportive communities through organizing an annual run. She hopes to create more open conversations and help educate individuals about both mental health and stroke/brain injuries, as well as advocate for greater accessibility and supports within the healthcare system.
