Guneet is a first year student in the Faculty of Arts at the University of British Columbia. She is interested in majoring in either International Relations or Political Science, with a minor in Law and Society. She loves being involved in her community and is an intersectional feminist, who is passionate about social justice issues ranging from women’s rights to mental illness. Before coming to UBC, she founded the Feminism Club at her high school. She was a co-chair for a series of women’s empowerment and leadership workshops and a conference in partnership with Minerva BC and Women’s Enterprise Centre. Guneet was also a youth leader in the 2019 Women’s March. She is currently a member of the Equal Voice chapter at UBC and was a delegate for their MLA shadowing program that took place in Victoria. She enjoys going to workshops and conferences because of the opportunity to learn from not only keynote speakers, but also her peers and be inspired by what they are doing in their communities. Guneet is grateful for the opportunity to participate in the Daughters of the Vote program and is excited to learn from the experience!
