Hana Kazmi has completed a degree in Civil Law at the University of Ottawa and is currently a J.D. Candidate at the University of Ottawa. Hana values the importance of enabling all members of her community to reach their highest potential. Where such opportunities do not already exist, she takes initiative and creates them. Understanding that ideas of progress are often hidden in the hushed voices of those gone unheard, she began a program at a local elementary school called the Voice Program. Through the Voice Program, she provided an avenue for students to understand the power of their voices while improving their leadership and interpersonal skills. Hana hope to use her legal education to continue to help members of her community to believe in the power of their voices. More specifically, Hana looks forward to using her passion for policy work as well as her previous experience as a policy intern at the Office of the Prime Minister and the Office of the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada to provide insight in the discussions that shape the future of the law and ensure that all members of a community are represented.
