Joanna Burt is a Métis/ Saugeen Ojibwe artist from Lindsay Ontario. She is both a Métis jigger and opera singer currently studying voice at the Glenn Gould School of Music of The Royal Conservatory. Actively involved in her Aboriginal community, she is the Métis Infinite Reach Facilitator at her school and she spreads Métis culture in Toronto through the Summer Youth Cultural Program with the Métis Nation of Ontario. She teaches music and dance workshops to both children and adults and performed for the Pan Am opening ceremonies with Cirque du Soleil.
She is looking forward to working with the Canadian Opera Company in their upcoming production of Louis Riel by Harry Somers as the Cree diction coach and cultural advisor.
