Melanie graduated with her BAH in Art History and minor in Indigenous Studies from Queen's University. While attending university she held an executive role in the Queen's Native Student Association. She also developed an Indigenous Wellbeing Circle that focused on promoting positive mental health through the use of tradition-based activities for students and staff. She is now pursuing higher education at the Toronto Art Therapy Institute.
Melanie looks forward to promoting the importance of the arts in modern school systems as well as the need for better mental health resources and facilities for First Nations, Metis, and Inuit communities.
