Rachel Grigg: Medicine Hat-Cardston-Warner

The daughter of two teachers, Rachel is passionate about education and youth engagement, and hopes to begin an initiative to encourage young girls to participate in politics and demasculinize the field. On campus, she is a member of the Arts and Sciences Honours Academy, the co-founder and co-president of U of C's Women in Politics Club, and VP Education in the Bear Necessities Club, which is dedicated to raising awareness about homelessness. She believes education is vital to addressing the both the societal and systemic issues surrounding homelessness. As someone living with mental illness, she is vocal about her own experience, and is a strong advocate for mental health initiatives and the destigmatization of mental illness. 

Rachel comes from a small rural community in southern Alberta, and is in her 4th year of Political Science (Honours) at the University of Calgary. Rachel enjoys travelling, yoga, baking, and spending time with her dog Finn (and her family and friends).
