Serena Tejpar: Hamilton West-Ancaster-Dundas

Serena Tejpar is currently completing her Master of Science in Global Health degree at McMaster University, specializing in globalization and equity. Serena also holds a Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Honours with Distinction) from Western University, where she was recently featured for her “commitment to improving the Canadian healthcare system and addressing inequities in healthcare systems worldwide”. Following her recovery after a devastating motor vehicle collision in 2015 that left her in critical condition, Serena was the keynote speaker at the London Health Sciences Centre's Talk Trauma Conference and at Western University’s Stories of Illness and Health speaker series. More recently, Serena has been named YMCA Ontario’s 2019 Young Women of Excellence, Director with G(irls)20, and a Top 50 Emerging Canadian Leader for her leadership, community service, and academic achievements.
