Sonia Kulycky: Notre-Dame-de-Grâce-Westmount

I am presently pursuing my bachelor’s of science in Nursing at McGill University and, upon completion, plan to further my education in healthcare through postgraduate studies. I am a certified Skate Canada figure skating coach and have been working with children since 2009, I am a member of the Montreal Ukrainian vocal trio, ROSSA, I volunteer at the Montreal SPCA as well as the Jewish General in the Hospital Elder Life Program, and am one of the organizers for the Canadian Ukrainian Youth Association yearly Canada-wide fundraising youth competition. I have always been actively involved in my community which was reflected when I had the honour of receiving the Quebec Governor General Medal Award in 2014. I am passionate about the conservation of the environment and taking action against climate change. Gender equality, improving access to mental health resources for youth, and educating our youth on the importance of community involvement are also of great importance to me. I am particularly interested in creating environmental consciousness in healthcare, and learning about the role of politics to help me generate change in this domain. In my spare time I enjoy reading, figure skating, and travelling.
